The RV life

Quick post from the road.  Yesterday was the first day we got to civilization and internet....
What is today....Thursday??
So far we have: spent some time in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Did some hiking & met up with one of Kevin's college roommates & his family (so much fun!).  Saw elk, deer, mule deer (next to the RV), ground squirrels, & lots of birds.  Hiked along at 12, 200 feet....slowly....
Spent a (in my opinion) nerve wracking night in Guernsey WY at a campground by ourselves in 55+ mph winds.  Sheesh.  Was crazy & lets leave it at that for now.
That same day we had a mishap with the RV awning & 60mph winds along the highway.  Still not ready to laugh about that one yet either....maybe by the time we get home.  Lets just say it involved us pulled over under the ONLY overpass for miles & attempting to unroll the awning & put it back up in the wind (think pulling a window shade & trying to get it to catch & retract).  I was airborne for a moment....
Then yesterday we made it to Hot Springs South Dakota.  Took a tour of Wind Cave National Park.  Was amazing.  And the boys got to see their first pronghorn, bison, and prarie dogs.  They have become hooked on the Junior Ranger programs at all the National Parks.  Pretty fun to watch.  Today we hit up the Mammoth Site and the boys got to go to a Jr. Paleoentologist program.  Good times.  And thankfully we only had a rainstorm to sit out this afternoon....as opposed to the tennis ball size hail and severe storms less than 30 miles away.
Tomorrow we head to the Badlands.
Off to cook dinner now.  Rebecca--your kitchen is gigantic!!!
