Closing Chapter--Loveland, CO

Our final big drive took us from Douglas, WY to Loveland, CO.
We had to go past Guernsey State Park, and Chugwater along the way.
Neither Kevin or I wanted a repeat of the awning incident.
We headed out early in the morning with very little wind.
Made it past Guernsey (which was still closed due to the fire) and the Medicine Bow Forest (which the fire was under control but could still see smoke), and then the wind picked up.
A lot.
And we were closing in on Chugwater.
Once again the wind was 60mph.
But we got past Chugwater without anything flying off the RV.
And then we got past Cheyenne, and into Colorado.
Then we could see the huge forest fire (which is still burning) in Ft. Collins.
And we were thankful to be where we were.
Twenty miles south in Loveland, Co. at Boyd Lake State Park.
The water was chil-ly.
No, Kieran's not doing the peace sign.  It's what Keenan came up with at the beginning of our trip.  It stands for something being "too good."
A nice splash in the lake, a shower, and a little relaxing with a movie.
(yes we did have a tv & dvd player in the RV.  Never used the tv execpt for watching a movie.  Brought Nanny McPhee and Puss in Boots from home and sometimes rented ones at different KOA's.  Came in handy.)
And a little pre-dinner snooze.  The sure sign of a good vacation....
Sunset from our campsite.  The clouds are from the High Peaks fire in Ft. Collins.
Our sweet ride....1,548 miles.
That's all folks!
Would we do another RV trip?  Absolutely!  Was incredibly easy and convenient--can't beat having an on board bathroom while traveling with kiddos!  Or being able to go take a break in the RV for lunch while we were visiting parks.  We loved it. :)
