Our time in South Dakota came to a close and we headed back to windy Wyoming. Although I was relieved to leave the crazy KOA behind, I think we were all a tad sad to leave South Dakota. After a morning drive we made it to Douglas, WY-our pitstop for the night. Douglas is famous for the jackalope (you know-1/2 rabbit, 1/2 antelope), and they have jackalope stuff everywhere:
Even at the Railroad Museum! This was a pretty fun stop. It's several "retired" railroad cars; several are open for you to walk around in & check out how people used to travel (before they could ride in cool RV's). Even better--it was free!Checking out the dining car.
And the coach car.
They also had a sleeper car open and the boys thought those were pretty cool. A bed that folds down from the wall, & a toilet that pops out of a cabinet! What's not to like?!
Our KOA that night was much more like a normal KOA. Although it did seem like there were some "permanent" residents...a bit odd, just sayin'.....but we did get a sunset view of this....
...and this.
Friday we were headed back south on I25 past Guernsey, and Chugwater and the site of the "awning incident".....
