Since we've been back

We returned from our trip in the middle of June.
Stepped off the plane to hot, humid, summertime air.
We spent the weekend trying to shake off jet lag, unpack, and loving on our pups.
Monday the high schooler began Geometry (to get ahead) for the summer, and that night this kid

 had his piano recital.
He rocked it (and his bow tie).
 And then zonked out.
Thankfully it only took us a couple of days to shake off the leftover jet lag.
World Cup was in full swing with some crazy match results.
This kid still loves Messi & several Argentine players.
He & Kevin enjoyed a Durham Bulls game with some friends.
Kieran & I stayed home & binge watched "Sherlock" on Netflix.

Fireworks were purchased,
and a detailed list for the 4th was made.
He did a great job & we enjoyed our driveway display, especially when others rescheduled or canceled due to weather.
The dogs were not fans.
This kid has helped pick blueberries several times.
Pancakes, pies, cakes, and scones have been enjoyed.

And plenty of lounging has occurred.

The high schooler wrapped up Geometry last week.
He's also been working on his science project that's due in the fall.
Collect, kill, and classify insects.
A lot of them.
Here's what he had a couple weeks ago:
They're currently drying in my laundry room on a shelf.
At least now any time a bug is spotted....Kieran is the all time "collector" for it.
Gotta look at the positive.
We purchased a kickball & have enjoyed that several evenings.
And last weekend these two went camping in the Smokies.
Now to enjoy more relaxing, eating what's pouring in from our garden,  and plenty of ice cream
