The following day, after packing up, we headed to explore Sioux Falls.
Our first stop was downtown. The actual falls in Sioux Falls.
Beautiful park & greenspace on either side of the falls, loads of people out enjoying the views, and large greenway leading into downtown-just a couple of blocks away.
After we finished, we stopped by another park. The terrace park Japanese gardens.
A pretty area, but not nearly as beautiful as the Falls park we had just been at.
Next we headed to the Aquarium & Butterfly house.
The aquarium was quite small, but the butterfly house was clearly the main attraction.
It was fantastic-butterflies and flowers galore.
So relaxing to just all the types & sizes flutter around us.
Then, for our final stop in Sioux Falls, we visited the Reptile Zoo.
Fantastic spot.
The folks running it are very passionate about all things reptilian and enjoy sharing their knowledge and back stories of several of the critters in their care.
Like Big Al who really enjoys stretching his legs and socializing with visitors.
Kevin and Kieran were thrilled to check out their collection of various snakes and monitor lizards of all shapes and sizes. Keenan quickly bypassed the tanks with large spiders, and was much happier interacting with the roaming tortoise.
And I enjoyed checking out the toads and frogs.... and watching the rest of the family together.
From there we headed to our next destination-Vermillion SD.
We checked in at the beautiful Main Street Inn (a restored frat house), then headed to a Mexican restaurant our host suggested. It was a busy spot and we got seated near a larger group.
Then I noticed the shirts the group was wearing, and Kieran started to chuckle....what are the odds of him running into a group from Cedarville and someone he knew in that group?
