May-part one

May kicked off with a flurry of activity.
Kieran turned 18th, then on the 3rd, Kevin turned 50, and playoff hockey was well under way.
We hustled to track meets,

and enjoyed some lovely sunsets, chatting with friends, & watching them run.
One afternoon I went to clip some herbs and bent down to see this guy:

He was a good size black snake that spent the morning hanging out in the same spot, so I sent the boys a picture & text.  About an hour before they got home he decided to move & stretch out:
and (of course) by the time the boys got home, he had moved along & left the area.

More evenings were spent at the track.

And Keenan received a Magna Cum Laude award for the National Latin exam.
This big fella has been spotted around our neighborhood.
Pileated Woodpecker & he's huge.
The conference track meet was bittersweet.

Felt very surreal knowing it was Kieran's final time around that track.
Thankful Keenan has four more years & hopefully will enjoy the team (and one of his good buds around) just as much as Kieran did.

Sandwiched in between all of these events we had Senior sports recognition.
Very fitting that Kieran's track banner was with his good buds.
Great group of guys (even if they all hate their pictures).

All year long Kieran has played with the school worship team.  He began the year doing it somewhat begrudgingly but quickly changed and really enjoyed it.
For the entire year I kept meaning to go see him play, then woke up one morning and realized that day was their final time of the entire year.  A quick hustle to school and I'm so thankful to have been there that morning.  They sounded great, and then the seniors gave a roast for all the high school teachers.
And what would May be without a formal?

The Junior/Senior formal and these guys cleaned up well.

The senior class of 2022.
