Please Chip or Tag

Confused by my title? It will all make sense....just read on. I'm a bit tired.

Here has been our day so far:
5:30 AM-BOTH boys decide it would be great to go ahead & get up and start a party down in Kieran's room...
6:00--Flopsy (downstairs) decides she would like to join the party....
6:45--I give up and get dressed to go run. Not a good start to the day when both kids have already lost privileges before the sun is up.
7:00--I am out the door. Haven't even gone past our neighbor's drive when a deer runs down the other neighbors drive & into the road RIGHT in front of me! Once again, we both stop and look at each other, then she ambles off into the woods.
7:03--Running past the cow pasture and glance to my left. A large buck is staring at me. I slow down. Then I see a second buck look up and stare at me. Both with large antlers. Really guys, I just want to run....not looking to cause any trouble here....
8:something--I return from my run. Boys have had spins in time out and are getting cranky. Our original plans to take them on a hike get drastically downsized in favor of a short 2 miler about 5 minutes away from our house.
10:15--We set out on our hike (Bald Eagle Trail just off Fleming Rd.). It's nice and shaded and the boys are burning off the crazy energy they have.
10:45--We reach Lake Higgins/Lewiston Rd. and turn around to head back. About 5 minutes later 2 mountain bikers come from behind and pass us. With them is a beautiful dog. They say the dog has been following them for about a quarter of a mile from further north on the trail (Carlson Dairy area). The dog leaves them and sticks to us. Like.glue.
11:00--Sweet doggie has stayed with us. She is black with wiry fur (german pointer maybe). Well groomed, and extremely well mannered. Obviously used to children. Showing no signs of leaving us....
11:20--We reach the car. Dog in tow. What to do? Make a few calls and decide to take dog to after hours clinic to see if she has a microchip. That's right--no tag, no collar. Nada...
11:50--Doggie gets scanned but no chip. We drive back to trail head area & along Lewiston/Carlson Dairy on the off chance there might be someone out looking for her...obviously belongs to a family.....
1:00--Out of ideas. Take sweet doggie to animal shelter. Hoping and praying her family will go get her quickly. If not, she'll be up for adoption after 3 days. She'd be a great addition to a family with kids--just not our family. Breaks my heart to have to drop her off at the shelter...had hoped she would have had a microchip so we could have driven her straight home. Please microchip your dog or at least keep collar w/id on them....
1:20-Grab lunch.
2:00-Home. Keenan crashes and Kieran complains of being tired.
2:30-Kevin leaves to run at the Y. I finally take a much needed shower. Kieran still complains.
3:00-Wake Keenan up from his nap (got to get him to bed on time tonight you know). He's a crabby pill, but those are the breaks when you wake up at 5:30...
4:00-Kevin home from Y.
4:30-Head to our favorite gelato place to use a gift card that is about to expire.
5:00-Home to feed our doggies. Thankful our dogs are here safe & sound.
5:20-Off to our favorite post run meal (Five Guys). Yummy burger....Kieran doesn't eat, just sits with his head on the table whining about going to bed...
6:45-Home & Kieran takes himself to bed. Kevin and I play games with Keenan until.....
7:20-Shower, brush teeth, book, and bed for Keenan.
7:27-Kevin and I finally relax. At least three loads of laundry to deal with, but we shall see what gets done before we go to bed. Which won't be too far away. Been a long day.
