An honest answer

It's not much of a secret.
I don't like cherries.
Don't like to taste any type (fresh or flavored) or smell (especially the flavor). Ick.
It really didn't surprise me too much that Kieran loves them.
Loves them.
What did surprise me was how quickly he has caught on that I cannont/will not come anywhere near something containing cherries. I started to notice last year, that he started requesting more cherry flavored "sweets". Ice cream, cake, cookies, pies--you get the picture.
Yesterday Kevin was home (brought work home, but didn't have to go into the office), so after naptime we took the boys out to get ice cream.
Always a great treat.
Kieran, of course, picks out cherry ice cream and gets black cherries mixed in.
While we're eating, he wants to "sample" Kevin's ice cream and then mine.
After he & Kevin had "sampled" each others a few times I jokingly asked if I could try his.
With a serious expression he replied:
"No Mom. It's cherry. You don't like cherry and that's why I ordered it."

I miss you Rachael!
I just read your last few posts...you know, you are waxing poetic, my friend. Tax season must be doing it to you...but your posts are almost poetry!

I love the haircuts...so cute! I am glad Kieran is feeling better. Not much longer now...
