Kevin began April concerned about getting returns completed by the 15th; however, Keenan and I were ready to get another Tax Season wrapped up and behind us.
The month kicked off with the Spring Choir concert at school.
They were great (as always), and was a nice evening of music.
Pine pollen lingered for several weeks due to limited rain.
Pretty sure Brutus was the only one not bothered by Tax Season.
Track season rolled along.
At least this Saturday meet was in town at Dudley High School.
It was a huge meet.
Long Jump had 4 flights to accommodate all the jumpers.
Keenan had a couple ok jumps, then had an amazing jump.
Keenan had a couple ok jumps, then had an amazing jump.
But was just over the line, so it was a scratch.
But he walked away smiling & now knows he has much more distance in him jumps.
But after that his knee began hurting a lot more.
But after that his knee began hurting a lot more.
He ran the 4 x 200 relay, then talked to his coaches some more.
And they decided to scratch him from the Triple Jump.
And they decided to scratch him from the Triple Jump.
He met with our school's athletic trainer & she confirmed what the coaches worried about....he's got Jumpers Knee (tendonitis). Thankfully it's not a severe case but also will not go away before the end of the season. So ice, rest, red light, and a brace are all in order.
March madness continued on and we all had a few chuckles when dook exited the tourney.
The pups helped me with getting the yard cleaned up.
Then April 15th blessedly rolled around.

Keenan and I worked together & made (from scratch) caramelized banana pudding with cinnamon whipped cream to celebrate & it was delicious.
Since Easter was so late this year, that meant Keenan had the whole week off from school.

Thursday Kevin stayed home with the pups & catch up on other returns, and we headed up to Ohio.
We met Kieran & Rebecca in Columbus, and enjoyed our favorite lunch on Friday.
Then Saturday we hugged Kieran goodbye, dropped Bec off at the airport & headed back south.
Gotta carry on the Potts tradition.
We gave a Cheers to Grandpa Ray.
And after lunch took a stroll over to Schiller Park where we used to walk around with Ray.
Then we explored a store a friend had told Rebecca about, played a few rounds of Dominos at the hotel, then headed to my cousins house for the big Good Friday dinner.
Although it was a smaller crowd this year (over 30 there), we still had plenty of good food, and enjoyed catching up with family.
We're all watching & waiting to see if this will be the year we get some fruit.
Our iris all popped at one time.

These bulbs came from my Aunt Wanda & Uncle Dick's house in Ohio years ago, to my Dad's house, who then gave some to Brenda, and then she gave some back to us.
But he is growing weaker in his legs.
Our first gallon bucket disappeared in 2 days.
And after almost 3 weeks off, track picked back up again.

He had Long at one meet & did ok.
Landed some jumps & realized he can still compete. Just has to work around the pain.
And the next day was back doing Long & Triple.
And the next day was back doing Long & Triple.
Not the best distances, but he's just happy to compete.
And enjoy some of this after a meet.
Spring formal was the last Saturday in April & he cleaned up pretty well.
Shrimp on his tie & Bassett socks on his feet.
Part of the Junior class.
These two kept me company waiting for him to get home.
Sounded like it was a fun night.
Then on the 29th Kevin & I celebrated 25 years.

Holy cow.
Cheers to another 25+ together.
