August

August had a crazy beginning, and (thankfully) has flown by.
High school cross country practice began at the beginning of the month.
Bright & early, three times a week (just what every teenage kid wants).  ;)
A few weeks ago I pulled up their school supply lists.  Then I looked in our office cabinets & realized we had 7 packs of unopened index cards, boxes of pencils, pens, post-its, binders, and the like.
Much to their dismay, I made them clean out the cabinets & sort out their own supplies.
 It was such a win-win.
The cabinets & drawers got cleaned out/organized, and when it came down to going to purchase school supplies....I only had a bag's worth of items to buy this year!
Our weather has been crazy wet this month.  Between the soggy ground and/or excessive heat, this sweet fella has enjoyed a bunch of lounging in the house.
By the middle of the month the boys spent a day waiting on teacher assignments/class schedules, and once they were out....the texting began.
Open houses were held, supplies dropped off.
But before school began, Kieran had a cross country meet to run.
The course is mercifully mostly shaded, but it was still above 90 and extremely humid.
The team & this runner did well.  We were al sweaty & tired for the drive home.
 And school began on Wednesday!!

Fifth and Ninth here they come.
