NYC

Last week the Tax Man had a tax conference to attend in NYC, so the boys and I packed up and tagged along with him.  We were long overdue for a visit to see Rebecca & Ted on their turf.
Wednesday while Kevin sat in his class, Rebecca picked us up at our hotel and we took the train to the zoo.

Weather was great for November in NYC, and the boys love checking out other zoos.  Plus this involved a 45 minute train ride to the Bronx which made Keenan happy.

After we spending most of the day at the zoo, then riding back, it was time for an afternoon snack.  Our hotel was right around the corner from Korea town, which made these kiddos happy.
(Even though I goofed our tea orders & got bubbles for everyone--oops.)
Custard & walnut filled bites of yummy!
Dinner was delicious!  Kieran was thrilled at the terrine board...
and everything else that was ordered & consumed.
So much food & so good!

The next morning we enjoyed checking out the Museum of Math.
Yes, it is a real museum, and yes, the boys wanted to go!
Two floors of nothing but interactive activities.
We grabbed some sandwiches at Eataly, dined outside with this view...
and then headed over to Brooklyn to meet Ted and visit another requested museum.
The Transit Museum.
This kid was happy as a clam & in his element.
Really fun museum as well.  It's in an unused train station with all kinds of different displays, and the history of building the subway system.  And lots of items from bygone eras.
These two jokers wouldn't sell us any tickets.
And the City bus driver here was not watching the road at all.
And of course after all that walking, we had to stop for some fresh, delicious doughnuts....
before we visited with our two favorite artists at their studio.
Living large.
Then since Kevin had to do dinner with other tax folks, the boys & I enjoyed some Thai food with Rebecca & Ted before we took the train back over to Manhattan for the night.
Friday the temperature dipped and the winds picked up, so we headed to the Museum of Natural History for the morning.
Lunch was lobster & crab rolls, then some sweets at Levain Bakery.
This was Rebecca's still warm cookie:
A brisk walk through Central Park burned off our sweets.
Then Kevin met up with us for a five course tasting at Belly in Brooklyn.
Nothing but bacon!
This was pork belly with miso/maple glaze over a sweet potato puree.
 It was all so good!
With full bellies, and icy temp's outside we had to say bye!
Thanks for the good times & good food Bec!
We love you guys!
