October

October is almost over and it has been an exhausting, exciting, and emotional month.
One spent with a lot of driving, practices, and games.
This one enjoyed another great soccer season that was condensed with three weekends of Sat/Sun games....

He plays defense and really enjoys it.  Great group of kids, and a great coach make it even more fun.
And when you have quiet afternoons after you get your homework done, you take crazy pictures like this:
This kiddo just wrapped up his final season of cross country for the middle school team.

He worked hard, practiced hard, and juggled it all with keeping up with homework.
Somedays it was harder than others:

Had to retire a couple of shorts & a shirt due to wear & "tear"....
And Kieran ran a 5k at a "easy, relaxed pace" per his cross country coaches instructions and snagged third place for his age group!
Keenan decided to turn in the last of our watermelons into jack-o-lanterns.
Worked out great & we got to eat the insides.
Two days after Kieran's "easy" 5k, his team ran in the Conference Championship.
This year has been close between Caldwell & another school for boys and girls wins.

Kieran ran hard, along with the rest of his team...
And snagged wins for both boys and girls!
Say hello to boys & girls Conference Champs!!
The awards banquet was the final wrap up for his middle school cross country career.
His coach is wonderful and had thoughtful statements, stories, Bible verses, & gifts for each runner.
This runner in particular really appreciated what she had to say.  Might have even gotten just a tad misty-eyed.

And yesterday I made a big pot of chili and we raised a glass for this guy...
Yesterday was his birthday.  Still miss him.
I know he would have been so proud of his two favorite grandsons.
