Odds & ends

Last week we wrapped up with the middle school band concert.
It was great to see (and hear) how much they have grown since December.
It was a wonderful concert & our guy on the sax rocked it (and some highwater's).
Since then we had a soggy weekend that rained us out of most of our yard work, and a baseball game.  Now we are on the last full week of school.  Wrapping things up & trying to finish the school year strong.
Today we had some glorious sunshine, so after work I tied up my shoes & hit the greenway for a run.
It was quiet, and shaded as I ran along the lake.
At one point near my turn around I came out of some heavily shaded area with lots of cracked pavement into the sun & came inches from stepping on this big fella....
I could tell as my foot went inches from it's head that it was a black snake (whew!), but that still didn't stop me from squealing like a girl and doing some funky half hurdle jump.
Guess I wasn't the only one trying to enjoy the nice weather.

Congrats to Kieran on finishing the band year. Like the sax.
WOW! Long black snake. Unfortunately around here, we have had copperheads. Guy in our church got bitten and the NC State baseball coach.
