Last week we headed out of town on Thursday.
Met some good friends (& a former roommate of Kevin's) for dinner in Richmond at a wonderful Mexican restaurant before heading father along the highway to Williamsburg.
Friday Kevin had to go meet a client for lunch so the boys & I hung out...
in Colonial Williamsburg.
We ducked in & around as many school groups as possible. And in & out of as many buildings as possible since it was chilly & drizzling most of the day.
Then we ducked along a little alley...
to find the local livestock.
Some were shaggier than others...
And Kevin finally rejoined us later in the afternoon.
Friday night we enjoyed a wonderful meal out celebrating Kevin & I's sixteenth anniversary.
It was a delicious splurge & worth every penny.
Our kiddos enjoy some food.
Saturday was chilly as well & we hit Busch Gardens.
Some enjoyed more roller coasters than others.
All the boys enjoyed the swings... 3 rides in a row....
Then Sunday the rain caught up to us as we stopped at Petersburg National Battlefield.
The boys still enjoyed checking out some of the sites.
Kieran just got new shoes & was worried about getting dirt on them. Keenan was excited about wearing a rain poncho.
Sunday was also Kieran's birthday.
Twelve.
Quickly approaching teenage years.
Monday marked two years since we lost my Mom.
Hoping that more of the good memories will overrun the memories of her being sick...and they are, just slowly.
Tuesday we celebrated again!
This time for Kevin.
Absolutely no one else I want to parent these two wonky kiddos with.
And no one else I want beside me.
