Vacation thoughts

We are home now, from another awesome vacation.
We were blessed by some awesome weather (for the most part), good time spent together, lots of laughter, and some awesome friends who made the drive out & helped us with the kiddos during the Half.
This was the first time at the outerbanks that we have not had any kiddos napping during the day.  We stayed busy with plenty of activities, but also with time to relax as well.
It was fun just to realize how much the boys have grown.
One night at dinner it hit me:  we were all talking with each other, taking turns, not interrupting, telling stories, and laughing.....and it was awesome.
Kevin & I weren't "entertaining" kids until the food came.
We were having a meal together as a family.
(With manners in a public restaurant no less)
What an amazing blessing.
So here are a few more shots I found courtesy Kevin's phone.
The boys at the top of the Currituck Lighthouse.
Love that picture.
Some of the 214 steps inside the lighthouse, and our awesome friends who supported us.
This shot just makes me dizzy to even look at it....
Our blustery morning at Jockey's Ridge.
The wind was howling.
Makes me appreciate the Wright Brothers & all they went through to fly.
And the old "bankers" who carved a living out on this sandbar.
Maybe one day Kevin & I can figure out a way to retire out there.
One day.
