Owie

Overall I would say runners are a pretty courteous group.
A head bob, hand flip, hello, or good morning are normal when you see a fellow runner.
Especially someone else suffering in cruddy weather.
And it's bound to happen at some point....you try to be careful, but at some point you're going to fall down.
Wet leaves, pine needles, rocks, tree roots, (dang) gumballs, and my nemesis...acorns.
Take your pick, just watch your step.
But usually when you do fall, if there's another runner nearby, they will help you out & make sure you're ok.
Usually.
Just not today for Kevin.
He was on mile 7 of an 18 miler along the greenway.
Approaching him was a large pack of runners....who were making no moves to get out of the way.
(Again--so not the norm!)
So he scooted off the paved trail & onto the gravel.
And wiped out.
As he was getting up, checking himself out & gathering his water bottles the other group reached him & passed him.
Major breach of etiquette to not check on a fallen runner if you ask me.
But he suffered on.  Skinned knee, and bloody hand for 11 more miles.
Tough guy.
