Slainte!

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day.
We were blessed with beautiful weather, and some fun activities.
The annual reenactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse was this weekend, so the boys and I went over to check out the camps. A friend of ours is involved in the reenactment & while we waited for him to finish with his "drills", Kieran and Keenan learned all sorts of things about cannons and muskets....
Ask Kieran how heavy that musket was (10.5 lbs with the bayonette; 9 without). He held it by himself for about .5 seconds....

Ask them which is more accurate: a musket or a rifle. They know. And Kieran can tell you why.

After we left the park we grabbed lunch, Kieran changed clothes & we headed out to a soccer game. Kevin has worked lots of late nights this week & as a result got to spend the rest of the afternoon with us. Fantastic! I made a grocery run (kid free!) and started on dinner while Kevin walked down the road with the boys to check out some road construction.

Dinner was some tasty corned beef, cabbage, & veggies, irish cheddar cheese, and some homemade banoffe pie. Slainte!

Today we headed back to the park to watch a reenactment of the battle. I was a little bummed they didn't have the cannons involved, but the kiddos seemed to enjoy it all.

Great weekend.

Makes me look forward to the end of tax season even more.
