Vacation-NYC/Boston Chapter 3

How often have you ridden a carousel and had it ALL to yourselves?? Just you and your brother whizzing around & around??
Kieran and Keenan had that luxury in Brooklyn. Thanks to some dreary, drizzly weather they had the carousel all to themselves. (Then they had one more ride, but had to share it with two other kids--oh my.)

Prospect Park is 3/4 mile from Rebecca's apartment so we strolled up there one afternoon (bribing the boys with ice cream once we were done). The park was designed by Olmstead (Central Park) and is beautiful. It was well worth the walk. And so was the ice cream--triple cream, yum.

Before we went to the park, we headed to Manhattan and the Fire Truck Museum. Lots of antique fire trucks, equipment, uniforms, pumper cars, etc.. And some uniforms for kids to try on...

Did I mention we also had ice cream again that morning after we left the museum? Yummy. Rebecca also learned the hard way that hesitation around Keenan & ice cream is costly...

But one of the highlights of the time spent in New York was spending time with this guy...

and this girl....

The boys LOVED spending so much time with Rebecca and Ted. They have both said it was one of their favorite things from vacation. And those of you close by....be warned. The boys are now armed with a lie detector test! They will double team/good cop/bad cop you if they suspect you might be telling a lie! (Seriously genius gift from Ted!)
