When Flopsy arrived on the scene we figured she would pick up some of the other dogs behaviors. Now she has become Wallace's second in command on squirrel patrol. The two of them make quite a pair.

Wallace's Nemesis
Wallace is a Scottish Terrier. It's in his blood to chase vermin. (Unfortunately he thinks squirrels are the only creatures to fit into that category.) Also in his genetic makeup is the need to be the protector/defender of the house (and yard). In his mind squirrels are the main threat. It all began when he was a puppy....he would chase the invaders away from our plants/flowers/garden. And so the behavior was encouraged. And he took it to heart. He will sit quietly by the back door for hours at a time. Vigilantly scanning the trees or the ground for any unwelcome visitors. If one is spotted.....look out. My calm little scotsman will erupt into a snarling, barking ball of fur. And it is loud.....
When Flopsy arrived on the scene we figured she would pick up some of the other dogs behaviors. Now she has become Wallace's second in command on squirrel patrol. The two of them make quite a pair.
Now, in the past, when Wallace's barking would get too loud we would simply pull the curtains shut across the doors....notice Wallace pouting below.
