Junior runner

This morning was the annual Freedom Run here in town. Kevin ran the 10k while Kieran and I ran the 2 mile run (Keenan and Grandpa Ray walked to the park). Sad to say, but I have no photos....I took the camera, but the batteries were dead.

Kieran did great! It was H-O-T. He trucked along & was pretty close to my normal pace. We paused a few times to sip some sports drink I had. Thank goodness I had it with me since no one from the race was out to mark a turn & almost everyone had a slightly shorter route (1.75 miles instead of 2). The water stop was around the turn that was missed. Kieran poured it on once he caught sight of the finish line & took off at a sprint!

Once we got some drinks & snacks, we found Keenan and Grandpa Ray, then found a good spot to watch for Kevin & a good friend of ours. Kevin has been out of town all week & just got back last night. He didn't run while he was gone & had no idea how he would do today. We're still waiting on official times to be posted, but I think he did great! Of course for the boys, once Kevin finished that meant another round at the food and beverage station......did I mention they had doughnuts?
