Not to be left out....

It's only fair I guess.... Our other dogs, S'Baka and Wallace, both got a turn going.
On Monday it's Flopsy's turn.
It seems to be the norm now in our house for our dogs to go see a specialist.
Wallace was the first (constant sneezing and bloody noses--really pretty).
He visited with a neurologist.
He got an MRI among other tests and found he is missing part of his septum due to an infection.
All before he turned one.
Then a few years later it was S'Baka's turn.
She got to meet with the eye specialist.
Her vision was lost from glaucoma.
I don't know why we thought Flopsy would be any different.
Yes, she has an odd abnormality too.
Her ulna and radius bones (your forearm bones) are different lengths.
On both front legs.
She gets to visit the orthopedic surgeon at the specialists office to shave down the longer bones to match. If we don't go through with the surgery she will develop arthritis in the elbows which can quickly lead to back problems, and so on & so forth.
The surgery doesn't worry me--it's the recovery that does.
She'll be confined to her crate for the first month post op, then short leashed walks for the second month, and longer leashed walks for the third month.
That's right--three months.
And guess what else starts next week?
Tax season.
Good times.
Flopsy says--send me chew toys and treats!

Oh, poor Flopsy! That surgery sounds gruesome. (You guys kind of make me think twice about ever owning another dog!)
