The month of May can be exhausting.
This one was no exception.
The month began celebrating Kieran's birthday from afar while he wrapped up exams at school, then we celebrated Kevin's birthday.
At the end of the week Kieran rolled in with a car full of stuff & ready to enjoy his summer.
He relaxed for the weekend, then started back to work at our vet's office.
Keenan had his conference track meet on a beautiful afternoon/evening.
He entered & competed in the Triple Jump event for the first time ever,
and qualified for States!
He ran the 400,
and competed in the Long Jump as well.He has loved learning to jump this year.
And he also loved having his brother at the meet.
Yes, chickens.
Just for the summer.
Meet the Twins (Lemon & Tangerine), Carmel, and S&P.
And no, the hounds are not happy and will not be sharing their backyard with them.
Keenan worked a few weekends reffing some soccer games.
Keenan worked a few weekends reffing some soccer games.
Thankfully, he only had to deal with an out of line parent one time.
He jumped well and PR'd in the Long,
The State track meet was over in Hickory & thankfully the weather was unseasonably cool and cloudy.
The exact opposite of last years event.
Keenan had also qualified in the Long Jump event.
He jumped well and PR'd in the Long,
then PR'd again in the Triple.
He was happy to end his season on a high note, and looking forward to jumping farther next year.
and Academic All Conference award.
Well done Keenan!
At the awards ceremony Keenan received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award
and Academic All Conference award.
And just like "that" exams began, and it was time for graduation.
We went to support friends, and it was good to see some of last year's graduates as well.
And if the month of May was not already tiring & stressful enough, this happened:Kevin was hospitalized from Sunday to Friday for a severe skin infection on his leg.
The blister he got from the State meet (then popped & picked) set off quite the infection.
We are so, so thankful for antibiotics and for the doctors and nurses.
For friends who checked on us, brought food, and picked up Keenan after exams.
And lots of prayers.
He's still recovering, but thankful to improve every day.
