The lake was still frozen in places, and the wind was coming straight across the lake, but it was still a lovely spot to enjoy lunch.
The Icefields Parkway winds north through some spectacular scenery. Wide alpine mountain views, craggy mountains, glaciers, and waterfalls over and through the sides of mountains.
Plenty of places to pull over and admire the view.
Hard to capture it in a photograph.
For us once we finished lunch the clouds continued to build, and as we passed the Athabasca Glacier the rain began and followed us into Jasper.
The town of Jasper does not seem to have changed much at all since Kevin & I visited seventeen years ago. Still as charming and small town as ever. Just lovely.
Our base for the next few days we the same chalet Kevin & I stayed at previously.
Views were just as fantastic as we remembered....
Not a bad spot to sit & sip your coffee. We were hoping to see elk from our deck (as we had before), but since many had babies, they tended to stay closer to the wooded areas. A black bear was just down the road from us one evening though.
